Playtrekfest 2001

It's coming up fast!  Here's more info to help you plan and get there...

Come celebrate four years of Playtrek.  Meet your fellow Playtrekkers in the flesh and exchange real time messages.  There is nothing like meeting other people who share your passions for Star Trek toys and collectibles.  All of Playtrek is invited.

When: Saturday, June 23rd, 2001, 10AM - ???

Where: The home of Jack & Joan Butrum in the backwoods of Maryland
3108 Valley View Court
Rohrersville, MD 21779
Detailed directions at the bottom of this page
Email: Imdeadjim@aol.com or JButrum@aol.com for more info

Food:  King Robert and J'Ack will be smoking BBQ brisket (Dueling Smoked Brisket).  Burgers and hot dogs will be provided as well.  Otherwise, all attendees are asked to bring a side dish, dessert, drinks, etc.

Toys: Bring your toys.  Gawk at everyone's rarities, customs and other Trek collectibles.  Andy'll be bringing his Pile o' Figures.  (Remember the Plethora of Picards, Bunch of Borg, and World of Worfs?)

Games: Several games are planned, including the Ferengi gift exchange and the ever popular Trektionary.  Lots of prizes to be had.  Feel free to bring your own stuff for prizes if you'd like and help make a fellow Playtrekker happy.  Door prizes will be available as well, so you could get stuff just for showing up!

Other Fun Stuff: There'll be a full demonstration of how to cast 4.5" Trek figure heads.  Learn how to make your own!  There'll also be a video montage of past Playtrekfests, so we can revisit the first ever Playtrekfest, Tom Aliffi's Scotty imitation, looking for Riker's head in the grass, and Chris Doyle's shrill British accent.  The Sunday following the big party, partygoers are invited to a Jack Butrum, unpaid semi-professional tour of the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in Washington DC.
